Excellent video! 12:53 wish the camera stays in timer mode until I switch it back to continuous!! So frustrating that it reverts after every shot 😭 .. didn’t know about the Range Finder … thanks so much for that.. since my autofocus motor has broken(?) I have to shoot in manual mode all the time now.. so this will really help!

12 years is wild for a camera this great

I tried shooting a video and it was blurry - I think it was because I didn't have the video setting to the subject tracking... Thoughts? I went ahead and kept it on face-priority AF, but for situations where the subject is moving it sounds like Subject Tracking setting is best, yes? Thanks for such a great video! SO helpful! I'm new to DSLR and have to take photos for my work so relearning!

Not sure if you’ve done sports photography before but I’m going to ask anyways 😅. Baseball pitcher is on the mound. If trying to capture movement (sharp) what aperture should I use. I would like to capture the whole body. Would f11 be good? I understand my shutter speed would need to be set fast.

Just another important tip: Be Very Careful Of The Brass Lock 1:15 Coming Loose On The Holder Foundation. It has a spring in it that can cause it to fly apart if it comes completely loose. Make sure it is always tight, or you my loose it in the field and ruin your very expensive holder foundation.

It may seem a little late but I have just bought a D700 - my first 'full frame' DSLR (prices come down in tech to all those who wait!) and appreciated this video. I actually sent my D700 off to Nikon for a 'service' so hopefully it will come back with the latest firmware. I just wanted to add the 'A' and 'B' explanation which puzzled me and is not mentioned in this video. Apparently 'A' is 'camera operation' and 'B' is 'image processing'.

Hello I have to DOD LS460W in the front of the car and the DOD LS370W in the back of the car. The 460W is still working good. I does not charge the battery anymore so it is always plugged in while driving. The 370W is starting to fail. It was bought a few years after the 460W. It also does not charge the battery anymore. But since a few weeks the 370W is not staying on anymore when in the back. It stops recording and shuts off, with out hearing the tune. But when I put the 370W in the front it worked fine. (at the last time it did) When the 460W is plugged in in the back it stays on and record the whole trip. I'm not changing the power cables. The front power cable stays in the front and the back stays in the back. Does any-one have the same issue with the 370W, and what did you do to fix it. Thanks.

sir i bought a d5100 in 2012...used it only twice in the span of 10 years ( iphone camera was so easy lol) idk what took over me , perhaps its the boredom , took my dslr out last week and planning on properly learning it this time around . these videos are a god-send
